(MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA) - John McMillan, Republican candidate for Commissioner of Agriculture & Industries in the June Primary, received the endorsement of ForestPAC, the political action committee of the Alabama Forestry Association. After the endorsement from ForestPAC, Alabama Forestry Association Executive Vice President Chris Isaacson said, “John is highly qualified to be Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries. John has been Director of the State Conservation Department, served in the Alabama House of Representatives and has vast experience in dealing with the Legislature and other state agencies. He’ll make a great Ag Commissioner.” John McMillan expressed gratitude for the ForestPAC endorsement. “I served as Executive Vice president of AFA, and this organization was my passion for 27 years. I am grateful to be endorsed by my peers and consider it a high honor that will give great momentum to my campaign in the Republican Primary,” Mr. McMillan said. Founded in 1949, the Alabama Forestry Association (AFA) is a 501c (6) non-profit trade association representing the forestry community of Alabama. The forest products industry is one of Alabama’s largest manufacturing industries generating almost $20 billion in economic impact and providing 10% of the total jobs. Membership includes forest products companies, wood suppliers, loggers, forest landowners, as well as others involved in the growing, harvesting, transporting and manufacturing of forest products in Alabama. John McMillan and his wife Kathryn have two sons and two grandchildren. John is a native of Stockton in Baldwin County.
