Kathryn and I appreciate your taking the time to visit our web site.  It is our hope that you will use this site to learn more about me and my campaign to become Alabama's Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.  On this site you can also find information on how to contact me and you can sign up to volunteer or contribute to my campaign.

It is no secret that agriculture and industry are major parts of our state's economy.  In 2007 the top five commodities in Alabama added a combined $4.17 billion to our economy. In addition to pure revenue, agriculture also affects our economy as a result of the jobs and products produced each year. Without a healthy agriculture system, Alabama will suffer.  In addition to agriculture, most businesses in our state are small family owned enterprises which employ thousands of people, and they too need a strong advocate fighting on their behalf. 

The next Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries must understand the needs of Alabama's families, farmers, and businesses, I am confident that I am that person.  Because of my work in the Alabama Legislature and as a result of my time as Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, I understand what needs to be done to move Alabama's Department of Agriculture and Industries forward.
